In order to keep the bank from repossessing the ranch, they need to purchase a bull from the stockyard in a far town so that they can breed their own stock. They only have $600 left.

Upon leaving, the brunette tells her sister, 'When I get there, if I decide to buy the bull, I'll contact you to drive out after me and haul it home.'

The brunette arrives at the stockyard, inspects the bull, and decides she wants to buy it. The man tells her that he will sell it for $599, no less.

I have had a busy week with the kids at their dance competition and the weekend is now coming to an end. Today the kids performed their big production of Billy Elliot it was so exciting to see them both have so much fun up on stage. We are now getting ready to get some sleep and get ready for tommorrows show of the Nut Cracker, it will be a very exciting moment for sure to see the kids in their last big show of the competition, that is except for the finally dance off which so far has to performances from Trin getting in so far.

Yesterday I had a flat tire by the hospital .
I eased my car over to the shoulder of the road, carefully got out of the car and
opened the trunk.

I took out 2 cardboard men, unfolded them and stood
them at the rear of my car facing oncoming traffic. They look so
life like you wouldn't believe it! They are in trench coats, exposing their
nude bodies and private parts to the approaching drivers.

I started to change my tire, and to my surprise, cars started slowing down looking at my life like men. And of course, traffic started backing up. Everybody was tooting their horns and waving like crazy. It wasn't
long before a Mountie pulled up behind me.

He got out of his car and started walking towards me. I could tell he was not a happy camper!

"What's going on here?"

"My car has a flat tire," I said calmly.

"Well, what the hell are those obscene cardboard men doing
here by the road?"

The weekend we have been waiting for has finally arrived, it's moving weekend. We are not moving because we want to but because we have to but we are going to make the best of the situation and have been working hard getting our new place ready. The moving truck is out front and tommorrow we start loading it up, we will have lots of help on the other end to unload but this end it's a little light so hopefully we can get things loaded ok. Furniture Dissapointment

We picked up the boys new bunk beds today and they were very excited to get to spend the night in their new beds. We managed to get everything home, or so we thought, they forgot one of the boxes so we had to travel back to the store. Then when we got put them together there were a couple of parts damaged the headboard and footboard were heavily damaged so it was very disappointing. So dissapointing that we are not sure if we will go back to get our other furniture we wanted. We built the beds anyway and are taking them back to get the replacement parts sent to us.

We are in the process of moving and it is an interesting experience for sure, we are moving a little bit every chance we get. To make it a bit more fun we are working on picking out new furniture for the family. We are down sizing a little bit so it is allowing us to sell off a lot of our things to get some money to buy new. It is making it easier too because it is less we need to move to our new home.

It can be a lot of fun doing Dance competitions with the kids but it sure eats up our free time and the poor house takes the brunt of the abuse. We have been trying to keep up with the cleaning but with being gone most of the day it seems like we get home long enough to drop our clothes, eat and not much else. Snow, snow go away

I really enjoy some snow, it sure makes for good skiing and great fun for the kids but I think it's taking it to the extreame this year. It seems like we are getting a couple of snow storms each week and it's gotton to the point that we don't even have room in the yard to put all the snow. The kids have the day off school again today and as the roads are all cleared up from the storm and we don't have anything to do it was time for another trip off to the ski hill for some fun. The kids are getting used to my spontaneous trips to the hill at the drop of the hat. We had a great time and enjoyed our graduated status up to the chair lift all afternoon long.

Frozen Solid

Well today started like a normal day, or so it seemed, it was cold but other than that is seemed ok. Matt took the kids up to school and was surprised when the crossing guard wasn't there as normal, then looking at the parking lot it was totally empty. They tried the door to the school and it was locked up, so they came back home. Listening to the radio we found out that school was cancelled because of the cold. Later in the day I was hoping for a nice hot shower before going to work and was surprised with no hot water, great the pipes from the oil tank were frozen, at least it will give hubby something to do when he gets home from work

I know it is winter based on the calendar but Mother Nature is playing a cruel trick on us here. We are waiting for the snow to come and for it to be cold enough long enough for the ski hill to get opened. This was supposed to be the perfect week, everyday below freezing and snow in the forcast. Unfortunetly somehow it warmed up overnight and the large snowfall we were to get today turned to rain, I'm sure this ruined all the work they have been doing at the hills and it will post pone our ski trip again.

Hoping for some snow

We managed a trip to the ski hill last weekend but unfortunetly it really shouldn't have even opened up yet, they only had the bunny hill and 1 run open. It was nice to get out and try our gear for the first time and to get our feet under ourselves though. We were hoping that there might be some extra snow through the week or at least it would be cold enough for the hill to make some snow, neither of those things happened so we skipped our trip out this weekend. It is supposed to be colder this week so there should be a good opportunity to make some snow this week and get to the hill next week with a few runs open....crossing fingers.

One thing that is working out to our advantage this year is that the store flyers all start on Friday so this year all the boxing day flyers start early. I just got our flyers today and now we are making plans for Friday morning as to where we will be heading for shopping fun. Remembering back to the good ol days and the treats we loved as kids my husband brought up pudding pops. He used to have these every summer, especially the Jello brand with "Bill Cosby". We are back into finishing our kitchen, we took a break through the winter to gain our breath but now with the fresh spring weather we are back to finishing up our renovation. Well a couple of months ago we discovered we had a mouse in the house, in the end we ended up with 2 and we caught them and thought that was the end of that. This morning we pulled out the dog food bag to refill their containers and there was a hole chewed in the bottom and debris around the bag. Lego Video Games

The boys love their video games but we are always looking for the right games for their age, it can be difficult. We recently found the Lego series of games that all the kids enjoy and can work together to try and win. First it was Lego Starwars, then Batman and finally over the weekend it was Indiana Jones. They love these games and now are looking forward to the new Harry Potter Lego that came out a while ago that is on their christmas list.

Well it's almost time to start decorating for Halloween, it's too bad it's so cold out today because it would have been a great day for hanging things out seeing as we are both off today but it will have to wait for another day. We have a big blow up halloween Lawn decoration to set up this year that we bought the day before Halloween last year so we only set it up for 1 day last year. Hopefully my lights will all work and we won't have to go out and buy a bunch of new ones this year. It'll be fun anyway when we get around to setting it up.

Well I have found myself in a terrible dilemma ski season is only a couple of months away and I find myself still without a snow suit I can call my own. We have been shopping with for the kids and now have found suits for all the kids. I have changed my mind a few times and just can't find "The One". It has become official, Indian Summer has arrived on the East coast, after a few weeks of reprieve from the unusual hot summer we have been hit again for the last few days temperatures have been at the 30 degree mark with the humidity. We were faced with a very hard decision this week, we have been waiting for years to get an opportunity to move back home to be closer to family and this week there was finally an opening for my husbands work. Once the reality hit in we realized how settled we had become her in our home and it made it very hard to decide what to do. We made some inquiries and the final straw came when we were informed we would have to take a $10000 per year cut in pay to go there because it is considered a smaller location and pays less to manage. It was very disappointing from that perspective but now that the decision to stay is made we all are feeling much more relieved here in the house today and the kids are getting excited to head back to school tommorrow morning. wild life trip

I had the pleasure of chaperoning Blakes class field trip to the wild life park, it was a great day and the kids had a blast visiting with all the animals even getting to feed some. It was so nice out with a beautiful sunny day. Blake had a great time and was buddies up with his good friend Emily the whole day, they were inseperable with lots of hand holding, how cute.

At the kids year end dance show I got all the kids together and they were dressed very nicely to boot so it was time to snap a few shots of them all together. It has been a very busy year for all of us with me working nights and the kids going almost every night to some activity from dance, to basketball to youth group it makes for an exhausting year, especially for hubby who does most of the running. Summer is coming and with it a major slow down in activities, time to catch up on some much needed rest.

The grass is green, the sun is out and it's starting to feel a lot like summer. The kids love this time of year because they can get out and spend the whole day enjoying the sun. With it being the long weekend we had some extra time off and the kids took advantage today by getting Dad to take them over to the ball field to practice some batting and catching. I think they even managed to have a mini game when a few of the neighborhood kids joined in. They called themselves the Super Smith's and they squeaked out a close win 4-3 in a mini 4 inning game. The kids had a great time coming up with names for their team, Burchelle Batters named after our street and Dancing Dogs for our pups. The final tree stump experience

Last summer we cut down an giant apple tree out of our back yard, it had developed a split in the trunk and had to come down before it became a hazard. The other anoying thing about the tree was it would drop literaly 10's of thousands of apples every season from June to September. Now it is time to get rid of the last bit of the stump, it took a bit but as you can see the stump did light up. We didn't get through the entries.

It's here it is really here, the first long weekend of the summer and I can't wait. I had to pick up an extra shift tommorrow for training on a new account but at least it is for a day shift which will leave the evening open to spend with the kids. We have a big bonfire and bbq planned for the evening. With the kids finishing up their last dance competition for the year it is now time to focus on their year end recitals. Here is the tap girls getting ready for their performance last weekend. It's a fun time of year but there isn't much time to rest as I heard we are starting rehersals for next years production numbers the week after the recital and all through the summer, should be fun. We'll have to really enjoy the week off.

Today our son turns 14 years old, it only seems like yesterday when he was born, now he towers over both of us so I can only imagine how big he'll grow. We are very lucky to have a well rounded young man that is doing very well with school and is responsible around the house. Of course there are moments but he is a teenager so you have to expect that sometimes.

Dance competitions

Well it's all over for another year, we just spent 5 days at the final dance competition for the year. The kids did over 25 performances all together and had a great time. Of course after many hours watching and competing they are all exhausted and I think we are too. They were very excited to get lot's of metals for their hard work and dedication. Now it's getting ready for their year end recital, much more relaxing and than a short break before we start getting ready for next year classes.

Flaming Stump

Now that things have started to dry up we decided it was time to start working on burning up the old stump from our Apple tree. It was last year when we brought the old tree down and now the stump has dried up enough to work on burning it up. We have a pit and will be working over the weeked to destroy the last of the tree. We will have to get some marshmellows and hot dogs to enjoy around the bonfire.
