A MINUTE TO MYSELF....

I have gone none stop again all day and finally I have time to sit down for a couple of minutes so why not take advantage and get some much needed blogging caught up. Today is hubby's birthday and of course he has to work tonight so when he was home for supper we had a quick party for him. The kids decorated the house and got his gifts ready ( new clothes for the treadmill and much needed pj bottoms). I made spaghetti and Caesar salad and of course for dessert was his birthday cake and we each had our own little container of smarties ice cream. The kids thought that was the coolest! I did take him out to Pizza Delight for lunch before work (he ate free!) Here it is now only 5:30pm and I have the supper/party mess all cleaned up and the kids are in their pj's and ready for bed but we have a bit of time to put in until then so I think they will play the Nintendo Wii for a bit and I will do some more cleaning then it's off to the treadmill again. I guess I should call my mother to see how she is making out with her LA weight loss. She joined a few days ago and I am curious to hear all about it. Other than being busy as usual their isn't much to talk about. I will post again later :0)

KIDS SAY THE FUNNIEST THINGS...

On Saturday my great grandmother (Hilda) on my mothers side was celebrating her 90 something birthday so the family planned a reception so that everyone could get together and spend time with her. I wasn't able to travel home for this but I got all the feed back from my sister later that night. Well in the middle of my sister telling me all about it she burst out laughing and went on telling me about what her daughter (my niece) had said...

Niece "mommy, why are we going to the party?"

Sister " well it's because we are going to celebrate Hilda's birthday"

Niece "how old is she going to be?"

Sister " She is going to be 90 something, she is getting up there isn't she?"

Gotta love this..... LOL

Niece " yeh, she is almost to heaven" LOL

***HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Today I would like to wish my niece Lainee a very Happy Birthday! She turned 3 years old today and I'm sure she is having a fantastic birthday celebration :0) This is one of the things that make living so far away from family hard. Lainee and my son Blake were born only a few days apart and we haven't had the chance to really get to know her. Yes we visit our family when we can but at such a young age doesn't she know who we really are. We try our best to keep our kids connected but unfortunately they will never share a close bond with each other.
So with this said, I really miss my nieces and nephews and wish I could be there for special times like birthdays.

***BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION...

So I thought that we would have a great time with Blake today celebrating his 3rd birthday but he's not quite in the mood for celebrating. Don't get me wrong, he is having fun today but he informed me before heading out to see his daddy at work for a birthday surprise (a few balloons and a piece of ice cream cake and one of his gifts from us) that he was too tired for a birthday today. So after our lunch at McDonalds we came back home for some quiet time on the couch (watching Little Bear) before picking up the kids....looks like it will be an early night in this house. At least for the birthday boy :0)
