How the Grinch stole Christmas

It has been a frustrating Christmas season for us, normally we would be so excited heading into Christmas but this is an unusual year. Thanks to my husbands work they swept in and stole our Christmas by tossing him out of his job with no notice and not even a penny of severance. My son and daughter are starring in there dance school's production of the Nutcracker, they have been working on it for a few months now and the performance is really starting to come together so beautifully. Boxing Day Early

One thing that is working out to our advantage this year is that the store flyers all start on Friday so this year all the boxing day flyers start early. I just got our flyers today and now we are making plans for Friday morning as to where we will be heading for shopping fun. You can tell the stores are hurting for business because there are a ton of give aways in their flyers this year compared to other years. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

A delicious new treat

Remembering back to the good ol days and the treats we loved as kids my husband brought up pudding pops. He used to have these every summer, especially the Jello brand with "Bill Cosby". Trying to figure out how to recreate these for the kids was a challange but with a little google search we found the solution and it was simple. Make Jello pudding as per the directions and pour it into freeze pop makers, try it you'll love them, our favorite Pistachio.

Kitchen fun

We are back into finishing our kitchen, we took a break through the winter to gain our breath but now with the fresh spring weather we are back to finishing up our renovation. We are adding shelving and refacing all the cabinets. We also bought new doors from the local mill work shop to make the kitchen look the way we want it to. I am so excited to finally get this project behind us.

Little mouse go away

Well a couple of months ago we discovered we had a mouse in the house, in the end we ended up with 2 and we caught them and thought that was the end of that. This morning we pulled out the dog food bag to refill their containers and there was a hole chewed in the bottom and debris around the bag. I guess it means we need to get the traps back out and ruin Mickey's day again.

Lego Video Games

The boys love their video games but we are always looking for the right games for their age, it can be difficult. We recently found the Lego series of games that all the kids enjoy and can work together to try and win. First it was Lego Starwars, then Batman and finally over the weekend it was Indiana Jones. They love these games and now are looking forward to the new Harry Potter Lego that came out a while ago that is on their christmas list.

End of the Rainbow

It's a rainy day here today but with sun peaking through we are eagerly awaiting the appearance of a Rainbow. I always love this time of year when we get those sun showers. There was always talk of chasing the end of the rainbow and catching the little leprachaun for his bucket of gold. Santa Claus is coming to town

It's coming up on that time of year when Santa comes to the malls and the santa clause parades hit in spades. It is funny here because we have 3 communities that are pretty much within 20 minutes of each other and they all have their own Santa Claus parades rather than 1 big one. It's kind of fun because with a busy schedule sometimes it can be hard to make one, at least they are all on different weekends

It's the most wonderful month of the year

It's that time, everyone needs to get into shopping mode as the countdown to Christmas is now here as it is the first of December. I will be trying very hard to get Christmas shopping done early this year so I don't have to rush around at the end when the malls are so crazy, I really can't stand that, and everything is all picked over anyway so to get the best gifts possible this year I am making an effort to get done early...wish me luck
