FIRST DANCE REHEARSAL!

Well some of you may already know that my daughter is a great dancer and towards the end of April she will be attending a dance competition out of town. She is so excited and we are so proud of her and all her accomplishments! We always said that we would do anything for her when it comes down to her being able to dance and .... well...I guess that time has come :0) During this competition they are celebrating their 10th annual competition so they are putting on a birthday blast with lots of fun, treats and dancing of course, but in order for each dancer to participate in the dance that each dance school has been asked to do one of the parents must participate also. So I am getting ready to go with Trinity to our first dance rehearsal for 2pm. I will have to go pick up the sitter in a bit so I guess I should go get ready! Should be fun :0)
UPDATED (8:00PM)
Matt and our 5 year old son are joining in the fun so their is the four of us from our family! The dance is a bit of the rough side but we still have three more classes to go! God help us LOL....I might put a video of us playing around at home on my family blog. Nope I guess the video isn't going to happen this week it turned out to dark to see :0( but we had fun!

PICTURE OF MY NEW NIECE!

CAILYN AVA TAYLOR
Born March 27th
6lbs 6ozs

I SURVIVED THE SLEEPOVER...

Oh my God what a night we had here and let me tell you the girls were loud! They did a lot of dancing, Dance revolution, air hockey and there was lots of laughter and giggles that lasted well into the night. I put it off as long as I possibly could but come 2am they were getting louder and no sign of sleep so we turned off the movie that they weren't watching anyway, turned out the light and let them continue telling their stories. I have no idea what time they fell asleep but I didn't hear much after that and I fell asleep. This morning they all slept in until close to 9am then gathered on my bed to play Pet Shop Monopoly while I ran on the treadmill. Matt made the girls pancakes then off they went to get dressed where they ended up getting into the make up and doing there hair. 20 minutes to 12:00pm the girls started to get picked up but my day was just beginning then. I had to take Matt to work then take Trinity to her friends birthday party for 2 pm which was over at 4pm but she didn't come home until after 8pm. Oh boy she was some tired and off she went to bed.

I took advantage just after supper and layed down in bed with Blake while Kohl played the playstation and Jay played street hockey. Poor Blake was sitting on the couch earlier watching tv then all I heard was " hey mom get me a cloth here!" I look over and his nose was bleeding. So we got that under control and he wanted to lay down and cuddle so that is what we did.....and I fell asleep while he was watching a movie. Two hours later I got up and cleaned the house!
Ok so now I am tired and it's off to get some sleep....oh how I hope!

SLEEP OVER!

Tonight my daughter is finally having her friends over for her birthday and now 7 girls have shown up. I have no idea how many extras she ended up inviting without telling me. I think that should be all. It is getting very loud and one of us still have to head to the movie store to rent a different movie. They are want to see Bring it on! So a half hour in and the plans are getting changed. What next. I forgot what girls are like at the age of 8....I am in for a LONG night LOL
I will be taking the night off from blogging to entertain the girls and I will update about it tomorrow when I recover from the night!

7 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME....

I got this meme from Tammy's blog. Things were getting quiet here and I needed something to do and I do love memes and it has been a while! Here I go....
Post 7 random facts about yourself–
The Rules:

1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
7 random facts about me:
1. I found a new love! ..... my treadmill! We met up with each other 3 times today :0)
2. I just started drinking hot lemon water with honey every morning!
3. I already have a good majority of Christmas shopping finished and more ideas (just need the money)
4. I just turned 31 on March 23rd. This is the first year I can remember sharing my birthday with the Easter holiday.
5. School was closed early the other day and my kids had to stay there for 3 hours before I know school was cancelled. They enjoyed themselves in the gym. The sun was shining and it wasn't snowing so why in the heck did they cancel. I now won't leave home without charging my cell phone first.
6. Mid April I will be dancing with my daughter for the dance competitions birthday bash..In order for the dancers to participate in one of the dances on of the parents have to participate as well. 7. One thing that keeps me happy is renovation projects.... I always have something on the go! If not I will tear something apart to make a project...New windows in a couple of weeks so I'm sure there will be lots to keep me busy.
Well that is it for now. I'm sure I could think of some more but I will save them for another time!
Feel free to do this meme. I am off to bed so I won't be tagging anyone specific. If you are reading then this one is for you! Have fun. Let me know when you get it posted :o)

6 EXTRA GIRLS....

Trinity hasn't had her friends over for her birthday yet and finally we found time for her to invite 6 of her closest friends over for a sleep over Friday night. We are going to buy Trinity the "Enchanted Movie" to watch when they head off to bed and I'm sure they will put the Disney Dance Revolution game to the test along with Karaoke! You can just imagine how happy my 12 year old son is over this...I'm sure by Friday he will have plans to stay at his friends house for the night. Hey if anyone has any suggestions on things to do with the girls to keep them entertained let me know...this is Trinity's first big sleep over! Will there be any sleep involved? LOL

MAGNETIC THERAPY PRODUCTS

A lot of us suffer from some kind of health issue, whether it is backache, sleep problems to restless leg syndrome and the all to familiar to women, period pains and the list goes on. How do you deal with these issues and does it work for you? I have problems with my thyroid so I have been looking into many things to help.
A few years ago I had half my thyroid removed because of an egg sized lump growing on it. Thank heavens no cancer was found but it is just a matter of time before I will have the same issue with the other side, then my body will feel out of control once again. I have been looking into different Magnetic Therapy Products. For my thyroid it is the standard leather Magnopulse wristband that is safe and natural with a choice of five colors. This product alone should help with my thyroid problems.
After having surgery to remove half my thyroid I couldn't get over the difference in the way I was feeling, for the better. I was happier and had a lot more energy. To this day I am exercising more and you won't find me curled up in bed in the middle of the afternoon taking a nap, although the odd day you might find me sneaking one! lol So anything I can do or find to keep my thyroid issues under control I will take it into consideration!

What a Weekend!

Finally it is over! For going to have a pretty quiet Easter weekend it turned out to be non stop busy but full of fun :o) Trinity and I both had wonderful birthdays and we all had a great Easter and we got to share this all with my little sister you came to visit us from back home.
Saturday we had my other sister (from home) and her family over for a little get together for Trinity's birthday then we headed in to see Horton Hears a Who at the movie theatre, well it was Matt the two younger boys and myself and my sister Robin, Trinity and Jay went to see College Road Trip. It was fun and the movies were great! Later that night we sat at the table for a game of Dominoes! We taught the kids a new game and we had a great time and us girls ended up losing :( oh well, maybe next time! Just before midnight it was off to bed for everyone!
Sunday morning brought the screams of excitement from Blake over 1 Easter egg that he found on my dresser. He didn't see all the other ones which bought us some time to stay in bed :) and since it was my birthday I thought it would be nice to get a couple extra minutes of sleep! Finally he spotted more eggs and the egg hunt began. It was getting close to lunch time and my sisters got on the road heading back home and we packed up and Matt and the kids took me out to Swiss Chalet for the best roasted chicken ever! Not a bit of food went to waste which is a surprise with my kids! Back home and I got us (hubby and myself) into another renovation project in Jay's room starting to make him a closet....what a mess...
So now that the weekend is over....it is time to get things back to normal around here !
I hope you all had a great weekend :0)

A Birthday Poem from my Hubby!

Only 31 years ago
An Angel was dropped down from Above
Especially made just for us
We may not have realized at the moment
But a special soul had begun on this day
Caring and loving,
Nurturing to her babies
Beautiful in every way
Inside and out
A smile that can brighten any day
Always trying to make things better for everyone else
Sometimes forgetting about herself
Not wanting to miss a moment,
can wear her down by the end of the day
No matter what,
she will rise to the occassion to see her little ones be little
We have all grown to love this amazing lady
A little more each and every day.
Here's to 31 more years and 31 after that.
I wouldn't want to miss a day
Love you Dear,
Happy Birthday!
Mattyboy

STRANDED ON THE FERRY....:0(

This is a picture I took the other day when we got home from our Spring Vacation. The ice is coming in to melt and making it hard for the ferry to get through!

The rain started yesterday evening and later last night is turned to freezing rain. It didn't get as bad as we were expecting and it seems with all the rain the ice in ocean is breaking up a little bit more. We live just minutes from the ferry to Newfoundland and earlier this week the ferry wasn't able to get through the ice which left passengers stranded for 60 some hours before the ice breaker was able to break a path through for the ferry. One man was taken off the boat do to a panic attack that they thought was a heart attack at the time but everyone just seemed to be happy to be back on land and continuing on their way. I couldn't image how would have felt being stranded like that no far from land. We could see the ferry from here! I sat with the kids yesterday in the van and watch the attemp of another ferry trying to leave. It successfully got through the ice but I missed it because I had to take Trinity to dance class. I am sure we will get to see the ferry break through the ice again real soon and maybe I will get some good pictures!

FILM FESTIVAL

Here it is, a cure for the common crud! It is the first Viral Film Festival which is being held on the evening of April 28th, 2008 and will show the best of the latest crop of viral videos. If you are looking for a cure to your boredom then this festival is what you need. Check into it now because space is limited!

GETTING READY FOR A BUSY WEEKEND

With this long Easter weekend it will bring many celebrations from my daughter 8th birthday on Saturday and Mine on Sunday along with Easter. Today two of my sisters travelled from back home and my younger sister who is now 16 will be staying with us for the night! So what are we going to do. Since Jay is going to his friends for the night, we are going to rent a movie and just hang out here since the malls aren't open and tomorrow my other sister and her family will be back to visit for the afternoon. So we would probably d0 a little something for Trinity then. We are planning on going to a movie with the kids but we aren't sure if we will go tomorrow night or wait until Sunday afternoon. I am looking to a quiet Easter with my family and another day off with the kids on Monday! I hope you all have a great weekend :0)

Oysters

I am sure that whenever you hear of Oysters you probably think of pearls! Sure you do. That is what you find in Oysters! Yes, pearls are great but imagine being able to find anything else in the oyster . Would it be any other type of gem or jewel or would it be something different like money, charcoal, or hey even carrots just in time for the Easter bunny! I would much rather find a diamond or two in my oyster! Like they say, diamonds are a girls best friend and I love my diamonds!

Here in the Maritime Provinces we no doubt love our Gulf oysters along with other great shell fish and sea foods. I only eat such foods during the summer months and enjoy them very much. However, many of us are not aware that by consuming raw or undercooked oysters my cause serious illness or even death to at risk individuals. This doesn't mean that you have to stop eating oysters it just means to be better informed, be cautious, be smart and be sure when it comes to eating oysters and BeOysterAware.com has the information we need from What is Vibrio Vulnificus, Symptoms and treatments, Whether or not you are an at risk consumer and enjoy great oyster recipes!

LEFT AT SCHOOL FOR THE AFTERNOON ...OOOPS!

This is what it looked like here today right up until 5:00pm. This morning we dropped the kids off as usually and then headed into Sydney to look for a treadmill and for an appointment at the bank. It was beautiful out so we didn't rush around but hubby did have to be at work for 1:00pm. What luck...my cell phone needed charges and Matt's ran out of phone minutes but it wasn't worrying me because no one has ever called us on our phones about the kids at school....Finally my phone was charges just before 1:00pm on our way to drop hubby off at work...RING...RING....It was the kids school. They were trying to get a hold of me since 10:30am because they closed the schools because of the freezing rain and rain that were were expected to get later on today (started at 5:00pm). So 3 of my dear children were left waiting at the school until 1:30 when I got their. I felt so bad but they all had smiles on their faces and told me that they had a great time playing basketball in the gym and Trinity used the stage to practice her dances! Thank God their principal is understanding...he said it was no problem to him since he had to be their for the day anyway and the kids weren't any trouble :0) I will never leave home without having my phone charged!

7 Random / Weird things about me

I was tagged by Mel to do this meme about 7 random or weird things about me...here it goes!
FIRST:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog
2. Share seven facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird
3. Tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog
OK LET'S SEE NOW...
1.I am very hard on myself (whether it's with my appearance or anything else about me. I am filled with guilt and most times I have nothing to feel guilty about)
2. I just found a new addiction....running on the treadmill ( an addiction to exercise can only benefit me in the long run so I will take it! I am buying one for myself next week :0)
3. I tuck in my children every night many times from the time they go to bed until I go to bed and I am sure I would do it more if I wasn't sleeping (most nights if I wake up I have to go check on them again!)
4. If I could afford it I would take dance classes with my daughter! (although my hips probably couldn't handle it LOL)
5.I shower with my 3 year old sitting on my feet ( not my choice, he loves playing in the water and our shower is very small so he has to sit on my feet)
6.I am an overprotective mother who probably smothers her children...I am getting better at giving them their space and making some of their own decisions...they know it's because I love them very very much :0)
7. Today I left my kids at school for 2 hours alone with the school principle...what a great mom I am.... Heck the sun was shining and it was a clear day so why would I have expected the schools to be closed early. No signs of a storm coming this way... (I will tell about it in another post!lol)
Now I am going to pass this along to Jenn, Matt, Darlene, Jocelyn, Tammy, Misty and Juliana!

CATCHING UP....

After being away for a week you can image all the pictures I have....well I think I finally have a lot of them posted on slide shows on my family blog. Check it out to see all the fun we had throughout the week!

TRINITY GOT HER NEW GLASSES!

Trinity got her first pair of glasses when she was 5 years old. The ones she is wearing in the first picture. They have certainly taken their toll over the past few years so for her birthday we decided it was time to get her a new pair of glasses!

Finally, here they are! She picked this pair out on her own and just loved them. I have my eye on another pair for her for the fall for back to school that are red and black. They look adorable on her as well! Doesn't she look more grown up?!

Here is the side view of her new glasses! Oh and check out her new earrings...Her Nana paid for her to have her ears pierced again! She cried a little but was so happy to have it done :0)

JUST FOR LAUGHS....

Newfoundland woman 'of certain age', visited her physician to ask his help in reviving her husband's sex drive.

'What about trying Viagra?', asks the doctor.

Oh, no, doctor, I couldn't do dat,' she said. 'He won't even take an aspirin.'

'Not a problem,' replied the doctor. 'Drop it into his coffee. He won't even taste it. Give it a try and call me in a week to let me know how things went'

It wasn't a week later, that she called the doctor, who directly inquired as to the progress.

The poor dear exclaimed, 'Oh jaysus Mary and Joseph, doctor, twas horrid. Just terrible!'

'Really? What happened?' asked the doctor.

'Well, I did like you said and slipped it into his coffee. Lard, de effect was almost immediate. He jumped hisself straight up, with a twinkle in his eye, and with his pants a-bulging something fierce! With one swoop of his arm he sent the cups and tablecloth flying, ripped me clothes to tatters and then, lard tunderin jaysus, didn't he take me right then and there, making wild, mad passionate love to me on the tabletop! It was a nightmare, I tell you!'

'Why so terrible?', asked the doctor. 'Do you mean the sex was not good?'

'No, no, no, Doctor. The sex was fine. Indeed, 'twas the best sex I had in 25 years. ............. But, I'll never be able to show me face in Tim Horton's ever again!

ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

HOME...SWEET...HOME!

After a busy week away from home I am happy to say that we are back! I probably won't get much blogging done tonight but I am looking forward to sharing our week with you all starting tomorrow. Ahhhh, it's great to be home with my feet resting on the couch and my laptop on my knee. The kids are off enjoying their own space and in an hour they will start heading off to bed and I will follow them shortly after :0)

JOGGING...MY NEW HOBBY...

Something I have always wanted but never had the space is a treadmill. I love walking and jogging but I don't get the same workout that I would get from a treadmill and not to mention the convenience with having four children. My cousin and my sister both purchased a treadmill to help them lose weight and now that we have the space in our newer home maybe it is time that I start looking into getting one for myself. I have been here at my inlaws for the past few days and today I finally tried out my MIL's treadmill and I just love it! I ran on it twice today for a half an hour and feel great...(well my legs are a little sore). It looks like all my PPP money will be going towards my treadmill. :0) Then I should be slim and trim for the summer (or at least I can hope so)
Yep, that is me on the treadmill. Yeah right, I wish! LOL

GUITAR HERO III VS. ROCK BAND

My oldest son will be celebrating his 12th birthday in May but can't decide between wanting Guitar Hero III or the new Rock Band for the Play Station 2. Like he says with the Guitar Hero it is good for playing by himself but when he has friends over it Rock Band would probably be more fun to play so this is why he can't decide between the two. At first I was leaning towards the Rock Band then all the kids could play together but now I am leaning towards Guitar Hero but the problem there is we haven't been able to find one for the Play Station 2 since before Christmas and we might not find one in time for his birthday. Maybe Rock Band would make a better family gift for Christmas this year and Jay can still get his Guitar Hero and everyone will be happy. I HATE MAKING DECISIONS....GRRRRR!
While looking for pictures on Google I came across Guitar Hero III for the Wii which would be better...I wonder if Rock Band is coming out for the Wii also? Something to look into...

EAR INFECTION CONFIRMED....:0( AND MORE...

I spent from 10:00am until 3:00pm at the emergency clinic to have Blake's ears looked at and sure enough he has an ear infection in his left ear. Two years ago he had tubes put in his ears due to way too many infections and have never had any problems with his ears since. Today we found out that they have finally fallen out (like they were suppose to) but I wasn't happy to hear that we had to deal with an infection. Poor little guy. He was fine after we finally got Tylenol into him and he was a perfect little angel during our long wait. He played his v-smile pocket and I got hubby to drop us off the laptop to watch movies. This was perfect! My mom came along to keep us company so that Matt could take the other kids to the amusement park then she drove us to meet up with the rest of the clan so that Blake could go on some ride then we finally got a bite to eat.

After lunch/supper we stayed at the mall for awhile and Trinity got her second piercings done in her ears and the poor little thing cried but she was glad that they did both ears at the same time :0) then we went shopping with her birthday money for the Disney Dance Dance Revolution for PlayStation 2. Something for us to play with tomorrow. We then headed back to the amusement park until closing then back to my mom and dads to check out my sisters new pink electric guitar. Now guess what Jay wants?! (a new guitar, not going to happen right now)My mom just fell asleep on the couch (my couch where I love to sleep LOL) so I guess it must be time for bed!

Tomorrow should be a little quieter with the Bee movie at the theatre in the afternoon then supper at my aunts house and Trinity is going along with my sister to her dance class (no surprise there). I guess I should go find a new place to sleep to get rested for tomorrow. Nighty Night:0)
