GETTING READY FOR A BUSY WEEKEND

With this long Easter weekend it will bring many celebrations from my daughter 8th birthday on Saturday and Mine on Sunday along with Easter. Today two of my sisters travelled from back home and my younger sister who is now 16 will be staying with us for the night! So what are we going to do. Since Jay is going to his friends for the night, we are going to rent a movie and just hang out here since the malls aren't open and tomorrow my other sister and her family will be back to visit for the afternoon. So we would probably d0 a little something for Trinity then. We are planning on going to a movie with the kids but we aren't sure if we will go tomorrow night or wait until Sunday afternoon. I am looking to a quiet Easter with my family and another day off with the kids on Monday! I hope you all have a great weekend :0)

Oysters

I am sure that whenever you hear of Oysters you probably think of pearls! Sure you do. That is what you find in Oysters! Yes, pearls are great but imagine being able to find anything else in the oyster . Would it be any other type of gem or jewel or would it be something different like money, charcoal, or hey even carrots just in time for the Easter bunny! I would much rather find a diamond or two in my oyster! Like they say, diamonds are a girls best friend and I love my diamonds!

Here in the Maritime Provinces we no doubt love our Gulf oysters along with other great shell fish and sea foods. I only eat such foods during the summer months and enjoy them very much. However, many of us are not aware that by consuming raw or undercooked oysters my cause serious illness or even death to at risk individuals. This doesn't mean that you have to stop eating oysters it just means to be better informed, be cautious, be smart and be sure when it comes to eating oysters and BeOysterAware.com has the information we need from What is Vibrio Vulnificus, Symptoms and treatments, Whether or not you are an at risk consumer and enjoy great oyster recipes!

LEFT AT SCHOOL FOR THE AFTERNOON ...OOOPS!

This is what it looked like here today right up until 5:00pm. This morning we dropped the kids off as usually and then headed into Sydney to look for a treadmill and for an appointment at the bank. It was beautiful out so we didn't rush around but hubby did have to be at work for 1:00pm. What luck...my cell phone needed charges and Matt's ran out of phone minutes but it wasn't worrying me because no one has ever called us on our phones about the kids at school....Finally my phone was charges just before 1:00pm on our way to drop hubby off at work...RING...RING....It was the kids school. They were trying to get a hold of me since 10:30am because they closed the schools because of the freezing rain and rain that were were expected to get later on today (started at 5:00pm). So 3 of my dear children were left waiting at the school until 1:30 when I got their. I felt so bad but they all had smiles on their faces and told me that they had a great time playing basketball in the gym and Trinity used the stage to practice her dances! Thank God their principal is understanding...he said it was no problem to him since he had to be their for the day anyway and the kids weren't any trouble :0) I will never leave home without having my phone charged!

7 Random / Weird things about me

I was tagged by Mel to do this meme about 7 random or weird things about me...here it goes!
FIRST:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog
2. Share seven facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird
3. Tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog
OK LET'S SEE NOW...
1.I am very hard on myself (whether it's with my appearance or anything else about me. I am filled with guilt and most times I have nothing to feel guilty about)
2. I just found a new addiction....running on the treadmill ( an addiction to exercise can only benefit me in the long run so I will take it! I am buying one for myself next week :0)
3. I tuck in my children every night many times from the time they go to bed until I go to bed and I am sure I would do it more if I wasn't sleeping (most nights if I wake up I have to go check on them again!)
4. If I could afford it I would take dance classes with my daughter! (although my hips probably couldn't handle it LOL)
5.I shower with my 3 year old sitting on my feet ( not my choice, he loves playing in the water and our shower is very small so he has to sit on my feet)
6.I am an overprotective mother who probably smothers her children...I am getting better at giving them their space and making some of their own decisions...they know it's because I love them very very much :0)
7. Today I left my kids at school for 2 hours alone with the school principle...what a great mom I am.... Heck the sun was shining and it was a clear day so why would I have expected the schools to be closed early. No signs of a storm coming this way... (I will tell about it in another post!lol)
Now I am going to pass this along to Jenn, Matt, Darlene, Jocelyn, Tammy, Misty and Juliana!

CATCHING UP....

After being away for a week you can image all the pictures I have....well I think I finally have a lot of them posted on slide shows on my family blog. Check it out to see all the fun we had throughout the week!

TRINITY GOT HER NEW GLASSES!

Trinity got her first pair of glasses when she was 5 years old. The ones she is wearing in the first picture. They have certainly taken their toll over the past few years so for her birthday we decided it was time to get her a new pair of glasses!

Finally, here they are! She picked this pair out on her own and just loved them. I have my eye on another pair for her for the fall for back to school that are red and black. They look adorable on her as well! Doesn't she look more grown up?!

Here is the side view of her new glasses! Oh and check out her new earrings...Her Nana paid for her to have her ears pierced again! She cried a little but was so happy to have it done :0)

JUST FOR LAUGHS....

Newfoundland woman 'of certain age', visited her physician to ask his help in reviving her husband's sex drive.

'What about trying Viagra?', asks the doctor.

Oh, no, doctor, I couldn't do dat,' she said. 'He won't even take an aspirin.'

'Not a problem,' replied the doctor. 'Drop it into his coffee. He won't even taste it. Give it a try and call me in a week to let me know how things went'

It wasn't a week later, that she called the doctor, who directly inquired as to the progress.

The poor dear exclaimed, 'Oh jaysus Mary and Joseph, doctor, twas horrid. Just terrible!'

'Really? What happened?' asked the doctor.

'Well, I did like you said and slipped it into his coffee. Lard, de effect was almost immediate. He jumped hisself straight up, with a twinkle in his eye, and with his pants a-bulging something fierce! With one swoop of his arm he sent the cups and tablecloth flying, ripped me clothes to tatters and then, lard tunderin jaysus, didn't he take me right then and there, making wild, mad passionate love to me on the tabletop! It was a nightmare, I tell you!'

'Why so terrible?', asked the doctor. 'Do you mean the sex was not good?'

'No, no, no, Doctor. The sex was fine. Indeed, 'twas the best sex I had in 25 years. ............. But, I'll never be able to show me face in Tim Horton's ever again!

ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

HOME...SWEET...HOME!

After a busy week away from home I am happy to say that we are back! I probably won't get much blogging done tonight but I am looking forward to sharing our week with you all starting tomorrow. Ahhhh, it's great to be home with my feet resting on the couch and my laptop on my knee. The kids are off enjoying their own space and in an hour they will start heading off to bed and I will follow them shortly after :0)

JOGGING...MY NEW HOBBY...

Something I have always wanted but never had the space is a treadmill. I love walking and jogging but I don't get the same workout that I would get from a treadmill and not to mention the convenience with having four children. My cousin and my sister both purchased a treadmill to help them lose weight and now that we have the space in our newer home maybe it is time that I start looking into getting one for myself. I have been here at my inlaws for the past few days and today I finally tried out my MIL's treadmill and I just love it! I ran on it twice today for a half an hour and feel great...(well my legs are a little sore). It looks like all my PPP money will be going towards my treadmill. :0) Then I should be slim and trim for the summer (or at least I can hope so)
Yep, that is me on the treadmill. Yeah right, I wish! LOL

GUITAR HERO III VS. ROCK BAND

My oldest son will be celebrating his 12th birthday in May but can't decide between wanting Guitar Hero III or the new Rock Band for the Play Station 2. Like he says with the Guitar Hero it is good for playing by himself but when he has friends over it Rock Band would probably be more fun to play so this is why he can't decide between the two. At first I was leaning towards the Rock Band then all the kids could play together but now I am leaning towards Guitar Hero but the problem there is we haven't been able to find one for the Play Station 2 since before Christmas and we might not find one in time for his birthday. Maybe Rock Band would make a better family gift for Christmas this year and Jay can still get his Guitar Hero and everyone will be happy. I HATE MAKING DECISIONS....GRRRRR!
While looking for pictures on Google I came across Guitar Hero III for the Wii which would be better...I wonder if Rock Band is coming out for the Wii also? Something to look into...

EAR INFECTION CONFIRMED....:0( AND MORE...

I spent from 10:00am until 3:00pm at the emergency clinic to have Blake's ears looked at and sure enough he has an ear infection in his left ear. Two years ago he had tubes put in his ears due to way too many infections and have never had any problems with his ears since. Today we found out that they have finally fallen out (like they were suppose to) but I wasn't happy to hear that we had to deal with an infection. Poor little guy. He was fine after we finally got Tylenol into him and he was a perfect little angel during our long wait. He played his v-smile pocket and I got hubby to drop us off the laptop to watch movies. This was perfect! My mom came along to keep us company so that Matt could take the other kids to the amusement park then she drove us to meet up with the rest of the clan so that Blake could go on some ride then we finally got a bite to eat.

After lunch/supper we stayed at the mall for awhile and Trinity got her second piercings done in her ears and the poor little thing cried but she was glad that they did both ears at the same time :0) then we went shopping with her birthday money for the Disney Dance Dance Revolution for PlayStation 2. Something for us to play with tomorrow. We then headed back to the amusement park until closing then back to my mom and dads to check out my sisters new pink electric guitar. Now guess what Jay wants?! (a new guitar, not going to happen right now)My mom just fell asleep on the couch (my couch where I love to sleep LOL) so I guess it must be time for bed!

Tomorrow should be a little quieter with the Bee movie at the theatre in the afternoon then supper at my aunts house and Trinity is going along with my sister to her dance class (no surprise there). I guess I should go find a new place to sleep to get rested for tomorrow. Nighty Night:0)

SICK BABY...

After a long day at the amusement park yesterday (which was fun BTW...will post more later) the kids settled into bed for a good night sleep...NOT :0( Blake woke up early this morning crying with a sore ear. Great way to start off the day. We are spending it at the amusement park again today so in a few minutes I will go with my mom to the hospital to have Blake's ears checked then meet up with hubby and the kids at Crystal Palace. Hopefully Blake isn't too cranky. We will see...

BFF GOLD CARD

I have never come across a better credit card than the one I received from Petula. This is a no interest, no payment BFF Gold Card and I am giving one to YOU!

The kids are in bed and the house here is quiet. My mom works until later tonight and my dad took my son his clothes for tomorrow (spending the night at my aunts again tonight). After struggling with getting the Internet on my computer at my moms all last night and this morning we went shopping and bought a wireless router for their house. It was well worth the $40 to be able to play around on the computer and keep in touch with all of you.

Tomorrow morning we are heading to Crystal Palace Amusement park for the day and not only will it be us and my closest sister but everyone else is tagging along. Yes it's nice to have family around, Kohl will have his second cousin Noah to hang out with but everyone else is going to make it crazier than it already will be. I am sure we will survive! I am booked in with a few of the kids for the roller coaster so I will make sure that I don't eat breakfast LOL. I am tired just thinking of tomorrow. I will post some pictures of the fun when I get chance. Enjoy your weekend :0)

TIME AWAY

Here we are my parents house but the Internet connection is week so I don't know how often I will be able to update my blog. We had a great trip and the kids are glad to finally be out of the van. We arrived at my parents house to a big crowd of people for supper and went on until after 9:00pm. Jay went to my aunts house last night and will be back later today for Trinity's birthday party then he is going to a Hockey game tonight. That will keep him busy for the day! I am just getting up now (sleeping on the couch) and going to get ready to go shopping for birthday party supplies and what not and looking into how I can get better Internet. I might have to buy my parents the wireless Internet to keep up with things while away :0) It will be a busy day but lots of fun I'm sure.

CAN'T FORGET THE NINTENDO Wii

With Spring Break almost here I have been spending the morning packing and getting ready for a much needed week long vacation with the kids. We will be travelling to visit with family and we have lots of fun activities planned. I got a phone cal from my youngest sister last night asking me to bring our Nintendo Wii so that we can play Dance Dance Revolution. This seems to be the hit game for the kids. Oh yes and me too! I think that the Nintendo Wii is one of the best game systems available and everyone should have one to enjoy! Click Here for a Chance to Win a Nintendo® Wii™! and you to can get in on the fun. The winner will receive a Nintendo Wii console, 5 spots games (boxing, tennis, bowling, baseball and golf) Wii stand, 1 remote controller, 1 sensor bar, 1 nunchuck, 1 Wii AC adaptor and 1 Wii AV cable. Everything you will need to get started!

This Nintendo Wii bundle would make a great addition to any family with lots of fun to be had by all! I don't know what we would do without our Wii? This is something we do all the time as a family and we have spent many hours together as a family, from the oldest right down to my youngest who is 3 years old. We are looking forward to playing against someone different to make the games a little more challenging. Look out mom and dad here we come and bringing along some more fun!

RRRRRRoll up the RRRRRRim to win!

No I didn't win anything....LOL
I don't drink coffee and neither does my husband but it's back...Tim Horton's Roll up the Rim to win contest. I get hot chocolate from time to time but I can never manage to get the rim rolled and have to pass it on to my hubby. Well today at Zeller's I saw a key chain rim roller upper. It apparently goes over the rim, cuts it then unrolls the rim when pulled off. What a great idea for dummies or inexperienced coffee drinker like me. I should get one for myself for the odd time I get hot chocolate. Is this something you would use to roll your rim? Just looking for opinions...I think I will get one for my mom to go with her birthday gift. I hate it when she used her teeth to do it :0)

OH MY, WHERE HAVE I BEEN?

Here I am. I wasn't far it was just hard to find time to sit at the computer today with the kids home....I guess the school board over reacted to the weather forecast because it wasn't bad today and so far it's not too bad a bit slippery but we didn't get the freezing rain we were expected to get. That's perfectly fine with me. My two younger boys having runny noses and a cough so I gave them some cold medicine and put them both in for a nap. (neither one put up a fuss over it either!) So I took advantage and curled up in bed also :0) I spent a good part of the day starting to pack the kids clothes and realized that Jay needed new jeans and pj pants (now new sneakers) so we headed to the mall before Matt went to work. I got a great deal on jeans I went to the check out ready to pay $18.00(already reduced) and they rang up at $9.00. I can't complain there, too bad they were the only pair left. Anyway it's almost time to start the bedtime routine and finish the packing. We are leaving here EARLY Friday morning and it will take us 5-6 hours to get to my parents house(maybe longer we aren't in any hurry). I can't wait. Hopefully I can get my laptop working there because their home computer is the shits....lol

MY FAVORITE SUNSET

I am always so amazed at the great pictures that I come across from other blogs especially on sky watch Friday. I have always wanted to participate in sky watch Friday but there is never anything interesting enough to take a picture of the sky. Why can't I ever get good pictures of the sky...? Last week while I was browsing through my family blog I came across some sunset photos that I took last summer while camping. This is a sunset coming back from Prince Edward Island by the confederation bridge after spending the day at Shining Waters Amusement Park. This is one of my favorites! I just love the colors.

FINALLY....A MINUTE AT THE COMPUTER!

So all the excitement started Friday night after the kids hip hop class, when they took part in a church winter Bible camp. We spent from 6-8 pm singing songs, playing games, crafts, snacks and Bible stories ( I stayed to help out with Blake) then back on Saturday from 2-4pm doing the same things and again back Sunday morning from 10-12pm. Points were kept track of for prizes on Sunday but I talked it over with the kids that since all the other kids didn't have much that it would be nice for them to be able to win the big prizes (HUGE teddy bears and snowboard) they were fine with that and agreed that it was a good idea. So the kids didn't to anything extra to earn points then came award time.....Drum roll GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....

First name Trinity Smith! OMG if you could have seen the look on my face, that wasn't suppose to happen??????and where in the heck am I going to put that bear?????lol Apparently she was so well behaved and polite as were my other 3 children that they got points for that as well, oops I guess I forgot to tell her to act up like the rest. Now you have to understand that this church is all older people and an attendance Sunday morning of about 12 (no seriously) they reach out to children who done have a lot and there parents aren't really there for them so for them to see our children there they were so excited to see such well rounded children join them. You never know maybe we will become a part of this church and help make a difference!

The kids had a great time and are looking forward to the summer vacation Bible school.
So yes it was busy but it didn't stop there but I was so EXHAUSTED that I was in bed sleeping by 9:00pm.
Oh what I will do for my children....Today I drove my hubby to work before the kids went to school, came back picked them up then dropped them off at school. That was hectic enough...Then I rushed home, took a shower (Blake actually let me shower alone lol) then rushed back out the door to pick up two of the kids at school, took Trinity to work with her father so that he could walk across the street to take her to her eye appointment while I went back to the skating rink to meet the school. The kids skated for an hour as a part of their winter carnival week then went back to school. (the weather here was FREEZING) left there in time to go pick hubby and my daughter up at the eye doctor to go get her new glasses done. Wow, I need to sit for a minute, McDonald's it was I didn't care as long as I was sitting. Trinity and Blake played in the play park for awhile before we rushed back to the van to take Matt back to work.

Oh I am not heading home yet....there is still more. I dropped hubby off just in time to go back to the school to pick up my little guy in kindergarten then waited for the second bell to drive some of the boys basketball team to their game at another school, which I had no idea how to get there...Thank God that by this time poor little Blake was so tired that he couldn't act up and he sat on my knee the whole time and played his v-smile games. Good news...Jays basketball team won the game 76 to 47, Way to go Jaguars!!!!!!!!!!!

Left there and drove home the two extra boys I had, dropped Jay and Trinity off home then picked Matt up at work. Finally home! Big sigh of relief! Not.....unpack book bags, start homework and supper, get the kids showered and ready for bed, watched a show with the boys then tucked the kids in bed. Yes the day finally came to an end and here I am watching a movie (Mr and Mrs. Smith) with Jay and playing around on my blog. I think I will have to let Jay watch the rest of the movie in his room and I will head off to bed :0) Sounds great!
This is just an idea of how the rest of this week is going to go! Thank God Spring break is next week. (oh wait that won't be any less busy, we are going away...sigh)
